Fesch können sich nicht so recht entscheiden, welches Jahrzehnt musikalisch das lässigere ist: die Sechziger oder die Neunziger. Deswegen klingt die Musik der vier Buben aus Wien und Berlin wie eine Mischung aus beiden Dekaden. Im April 2014 hat die Band ihre Debüt-EP „Descent Into Greatness“ veröffentlicht, die mit „vier Stücken fein-beschwingtem Gitarrenpop“ entzückte, wie „Das Profil“ lobte. Andere fanden dafür den Begriff Schlager-Indie. Im Oktober spielten Fesch beim Waves Vienna, jetzt legen sie eine neue Single nach: „Sailing Across the Sea of Misery“ klingt wie die räudige Neuaufnahme eines Motown-Klassikers. Die Rhythmus-Sektion rumpelt ungestüm über eingängig verpackten Herzschmerz: „While I’m lying at your feet, I’m travelling eternally, sailing across the sea of misery“. Schlager-Indie. Das trifft es eigentlich ganz gut.
